What are you feeling?
What emotion are you feeling right now?
Where is that feeling in the body?
How would you describe it?
Does it have any movement?
Many of us are so disconnected from our emotions. I hear people all the time use ‘anxious’ to describe how they’re feeling. I prefer to see anxiety as a state rather than emotion. It’s the result of you ignoring your body and emotions, not connecting with them. The energy gets trapped rather than being released through emotional expression.
Anxiety and the blocked energy can make us more irritable, more reactive, more overwhelmed, fearful…
In my coaching we explore ways to make better connections with our bodies and emotions. Allowing that energy to flow, listen to it and lovingly accept it, we are able to pass through strong emotions rather than trying to escape them.
I welcome it all.
I welcome all of you.
So right now, seeing as you have a moment, I invite you to put your phone/computer down, take a breath, close your eyes if it feels comfortable, and focus on what you can feel in your body.
What emotions are you feeling?
Can you name the emotions?
...Or did you come on here to escape from them?
